The Child Physio - Nurturing Healthy Futures

Ciara is a Clinical Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist with over 15 years experience in top teaching hospitals in London and Sydney Australia, including the world renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Ciara has developed specialist skills in the assessment and management of Paediatric Musculoskeletal conditions and injuries that occur to the growing muscles, bones, and joints from newborn age through to 17 year olds. Ciara has a specialist interest in child and adolescent sports injury prevention and management, strength training in children and adolescents, management of Rheumatological conditions, and the assessment and treatment of baby orthopaedic conditions and supporting little ones to develop their physical milestones. Alongside her private clinic work, she works in the NHS as an Advanced Practice Paediatric Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with Orthopaedic Consultants and Paediatricians.

Most importantly, as a parent to young twins, Ciara understands the importance of a holistic approach to therapy that works for the child’s wellbeing, sports activities and with family life! Ciara has excellent communication with young people and is empathetic to the sensitive area of physical development, injury and being able to participate in hobbies young people are passionate about.

Ciara is passionate about spreading awareness of child physical development and physiotherapy, and it was whilst on maternity leave that Ciara felt there was a lack of easy to access information for parents on this topic. Ciara developed The Child Physio to share evidence based information on children’s physical development through social media and educational talks. Through clinic and online platforms Ciara empowers parents to help their baby reach their physical milestones, manage any growth related conditions, and rehab children with sports injuries, all while nurturing healthy futures.
