There are so many benefits of physical activity for children and adolescents; building bone and muscle strength, developing cardiovascular fitness, and developing balance and proprioception to name just a few. But did you know how important VARIETY in physical activity is for this age group?

Did you know that newborn baby’s have soft skulls that can develop flat spots on their head during birth, or due to positioning. Plagiocephaly is the term used for a flat spot at the back on one side of their head.

Children are “not just little adults”, they have growing skeletal systems that make them predisposed to a whole range of conditions and injuries unique to this period of their life. In fact, because of this they need to be seen by expert clinicians with training in this specialist area.
I started seeing Ciara with my 3 month old baby who had plagiocephaly. Ciara immediately put me at ease and helped us to develop a plan of how to correct this. She’s extremely knowledgeable and provided me with really helpful tips and guidance. What was even more brilliant is the tips that Ciara gave were easy to implement into our routine and we are seeing big improvements to my baby’s head shape. Ciara is fun and so caring when doing physio and there’s constant smiles from my baby. Ciara you’ve been amazing, we were lucky to find you and I can’t recommend you more highly!

I have attended a couple of talks by Ciara on baby development which have been amazing. Ciara is extremely knowledgeable, gives really helpful and practical tips and I came away feeling alot more confident on milestones/ what to look out for. I attended with a number of NCT friends and we were really impressed with the talks and off the back of it, I have now booked physio for my baby which has also been fantastic!

We came to Ciara for a second opinion after we were told my daughter needed to give up swimming due to her shoulder pain. Ciara has been amazing. She put us at ease immediately, completed a thorough assessment, and was able to clearly explain to us what was causing the pain and how we could fix it through exercises to strengthen her muscles and changing her technique so that she did not have to give up swimming! Couldn’t recommend her enough!
