Ciara is a highly trained Paediatric Physiotherapist who assesses and treats newborn babies through to adolescents for a range of conditions, injuries, and concerns with their physical development. She is passionate about raising awareness of how we can better support our little one’s and young people during this crucial time in their physical growth, nurturing them for healthy futures.

Ciara is a Clinical Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist in South West London where she assesses and treats newborn babies through to adolescents for a range of conditions or concerns regarding physical development, bones, joints, posture, pain, and motor skills. She also has availability to see clients virtually and for second opinions. Ciara is passionate about providing education and speaking at events to raise awareness of baby development, child growth, and adolescent sports injuries and how we can better support young people during this important time laying down the foundations to nurture healthy futures. She promotes the ethos “Children are not just little adults” and require specialist assessment and management due to their growing bodies and the unique injuries and conditions that can occur during this time.

About Ciara

As a parent to young twins, Ciara understands the importance of a holistic approach to therapy that works for the child’s wellbeing, sports activities and with family life! Ciara has excellent communication with young people and is empathetic to the sensitive area of physical development, injury and being able to participate in hobbies young people are passionate about.

There are so many benefits of physical activity for children and adolescents; building bone and muscle strength, developing cardiovascular fitness, and developing balance and proprioception to name just a few. But did you know how important VARIETY in physical activity is for this age group?
Did you know that newborn baby’s have soft skulls that can develop flat spots on their head during birth, or due to positioning. Plagiocephaly is the term used for a flat spot at the back on one side of their head.
Children are “not just little adults”, they have growing skeletal systems that make them predisposed to a whole range of conditions and injuries unique to this period of their life. In fact, because of this they need to be seen by expert clinicians with training in this specialist area.
